Google is reportedly preparing to showcase its first Googlebook laptops at a media event in New York City on September 15. The company could also reveal the official name of the operating system currently known as Aluminium OS. The Android-based platform is expected to combine features associated with ChromeOS and Android. Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo are among the reported launch partners. The event may also provide journalists with early access to the hardware, including opportunities to photograph, record and benchmark the devices.
